Provide system administration and infrastructure support to the 46 Test Squadron (46 TS) for Command and Control Air Operations Suite/Command and Control Information Services (C2AOS/C2IS), Theater Battle Management Core Systems (TBMCS), and other related command and control (C2) systems.

Design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain computer systems.

Build, configure, and manage the computer systems to support all test activities.

Create and manage system user accounts in accordance with AFMC policies and directives.

Manage backups, respond to trouble tickets, and write scripts to automate processes.

Provide other system administrator duties such as booting and shutting down a system, mounting file systems, and scheduling test resources.

Install and configure servers, clients, and storage hardware, and perform operating system upgrades.

Perform installation and configuration of software and applications.

Support test planning meetings and test plan working groups. Attend meetings as necessary to provide briefings, information, and/or technical support.

Assist in developing system requirements, functional capabilities, performance measures, design constraints, test phase entry/exit criteria, and metrics.

Develop test cases and scenarios and scripts, write detailed test procedures, and perform data management, data reduction, and data analysis.

Conduct detailed test planning, execute hands-on testing, and compile test results data for input to test reports.

Coordinate schedules, pre-and post-test activities, and test results.

Design and employ test automation tools and utilities during test execution.

Support certification for test readiness by identifying deficiencies, verifying compliance with specifications and standards, and demonstrating a stable system configuration.

Develop and write methods of tests, test cases, test cards/procedures, test directives, technical or letter reports, test objectives, analysis and review of requirements, and any other test process documents as required in the conduct of testing.

Prepare, execute, review, and analyze test plans, procedures, metrics, and reports throughout the software development life cycle.

Travel to TDY locations to execute test procedures, data management, data reduction, data analysis, configuration management, hardware setup, hardware troubleshooting, and deficiency reporting, deficiency evaluation and recommendations, and official test reports.

Occasionally required lifting items up to 50 lbs.

Some travel required at approximately 15% may be required.

The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field (i.e., CS, EE, AE, ME, etc.) is preferred. Requires at least 3 years experience or MS with 1 year of experience in the field of telecommunications or a PhD.

Experience with telecommunication systems desired.

Understanding of installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware/software highly desired.

Comprehension of Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model is desired.

Knowledgeable with the system development lifecycle, network services, architecture, configuration, and security methods is desired.

Knowledge of telecommunication systems concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities sufficient enough to evaluate emerging technologies in a development environment is highly desired.

DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification is required within six months of employment.

Capability to work independently and self-motivate.

Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Must be able to work effectively as part of a test team.

Proficiency in the use and integration of Microsoft Office applications highly desired.
